Fun First Date Ideas
First Date ideas are always hard to come up and be creative at the same time. It is hard because you don’t know your date very well and not sure what he/she would like.
You want to make a good first impression, but you don’t want to do the old boring standby of dinner and a movie. This will not make a good first impression. Your date will just get lost with all the others.
A nice first date for the summer time is a trip to the zoo. This gives you a chance to talk and get to know one another but yet have enough to draw attention away when you aren’t sure what to say next.
Another good first date idea is to bake brownies or cookies together and then go deliver them, one or two cookies at a time at each of your close friends homes.
Maybe rent a season of your favorite TV show and watch it with a big bowl of popcorn and coke.
Another good first date idea is to play your favorite board game. This will give you some great interaction and allow you to be yourself. It helps to break down any barriers that may be there if you are trying to carry on a conversation.
What you are going for in a first date is to make a situation where you can both be comfortable, not have any situations where you will have the uncomfortable silence. You also want to be able to have a fun, easy conversation so you can get to know one another.
Hopefully, these first date ideas will help you on that next first date and that there will be many more after that.
How about a fun date that doesn’t require food? With my ex, all i did was eat, and luckily I got those 30 pounds off!
These are crappy first date ideas. Watch a full season of a tv show?? What a fun date that is, you both staring at a tv for 12 hours!!
First dates should be about getting to know each other. That means attention to each other, not staring at a tv or a movie screen.
I agree that watching a TV show is stupid but I think playing board games is great for a first date especially if you are friends with your date. That will keep if from seeming too formal but still allows you to get to know one another.
hey dont just go on a site and bash there ideas! at least they have some * cough unlike you
mini golfing is really fun and if you live close to the coast it sun just to walk around in the old district parts of a town.
k well these r kewl ideas n all but i need something sooper energetic for a first date to take away some of the awkwardness… all i really got is rollercoasters and redbull… anybody got any better suggestions? thx!
Don’t let them see how you type, Michaela!
I mean it’s “kewl n all”, but actually it’s sooper ridiculous.
ummkay? wats wrong with how i type? ya its stupid but thts not the point i need an answer to my question tyvm
@Michaela- you can go to an amusement park, you can go to the park (sounds stupid but its fun), you can go get ice cream and then go see a movie….. etc. there are many things that you can do for a first date but it may not be what you had planned so talk it over with your date first. hope i helped =]
all lame except the Zoo idea!
yeah i might try that zoo idea
you could go on a bike ride together then a picnic or wutever you have to be out doorsie to pull those off.
Why Don’t you try “Cornflakes by Candlelight?” You both get all dressed up, you set up a really nice table outside with all the fixings and then serve cornflakes by candlelight. You can have bowl of different fruits and other toppings to make it more exciting and yummy. It’s inexpensive and super fun!
Some ideas that I have used recently: Buy a disposable camera and go around town with your date(make a good cd to listen to that you can both rock out to) and take pictures in cool places with inventive poses etc. Go to a 1 hour photo development place and than grab something to eat while you wait for the pictures to develop. Go grab the pictures(have a posterboard, markers, and glue/tape ready in the car) and have your date arrange them in a random order. Now create a caption for each picture that tells a wacky and random story. This date was VERY fun and can be used for double dates too.
Another fun one to do is go to a park and create a sand castle city. What I did on this date was we painted each-other’s faces and than pretended we were monsters fighting over a city. It was a really fun date, but with this one the girl you are taking on the date has to be REALLY fun and imaginative.
Back to the tv idea. How about watching a tv show/episode or movie that neither of you have seen, mute the volume and then make up your own dialog or story to what you are seeing. This might work better as a group date, but I’m sure you get the picture.
Another idea is to have some sort of competition or play a game and whoever wins gets breakfast/lunch/dinner made for them as their prize.
It’s also a good idea to have a couple plans for a date. Have a plan A and a plan B, depending on what you have planned, you can mix and match different parts from A and B depending on how the date is going, what the weather is like, and how she/he feels about the planned activity. Maybe even presenting her/him with options, “we can go to the amusement park or we can walk along the water front”
A fun first date idea that I have done recently is making t shirts.
Sounds kind of lame, but all you do is you get some 5 dollar white t shirt’s, t – dye, some iron on’s, fabric paint, fabric markers and so on. .
Also a fun mix up, you make hers and she make yours or vise versa. And then, you both have to wear the one the other made for you and wear it out that night, doing whatever you want. Going on a picnic or anything else.
It was a real ice breaker, and I had a blast getting to know his personality through the shirt.
Some of these are really helpful, thanks tons. Keep posting other date ideas!
A great first date i had with my now husband was, mini golf, the batting cages, the arcade and then we went to subway got a cple of sandwiches and went to the local park for a pinic. it was so fun we do it once a month now, but we mix it up a bit, last month we went to the “Billy the kid” reanactment in Lincoln, New Mexico…the coolest thing ever and it was 6 bucks for both of us, we got to see the jail he was in an the bullet holes in the walls, it was amazing
